Sterilization is a voluntary permanent surgical process that prevents the woman from conceiving a baby and the man from fathering one. Female sterilization is called Tubal Ligation and male sterilization is called Vasectomy. What exactly happens during a tubal ligation? Now where do sexual desire and capacity originate from? In men sexual desire originates from testosterone, produced in the testicles. An erection is the result of blood flow to the penis. As you know that in vasectomy, the penis and the testis remain untouched so, there is no reduction in sexual desire or sexual capacity.

In women sexual desire can be influenced by organic, psychologist, cognitives or the environment factor and of course their sex hormones. Again, in tubal tigation, the ovaries which produce the sex hormones, are intact so there is no case of loss of libido. Secondly, her sexual response cycle is not affected in any way, thus her capacity to achieve orgasm is not hampered in any way.

The surprising thing is that many men & women show increased sexual interest after sterilization due to no longer having a fear of pregnancy.
